Playoff Predictions

I realized that I didn't actually say what I figured would be the result of the playoffs this year. And so, here it is:

Divisional Playoffs - AL
Detroit at Boston - Red Sox in 5 - the Tigers will suffer from their rotation problems, and their uncertainty in the 'pen against a vastly superior pitching staff that will shut down their insane offense
Cleveland at Los Angeles - Indians in 4 - the Indians won't have home-field advantage because of the competition for the AL Central, but they are easily the better team in this series

Divisional Playoffs - NL
Milwaukee at Arizona - Diamondbacks in 4 - like the Red Sox, the D-Backs will do well in the playoffs because of their pitching, and good offense will be a huge bonus
Colorado at New York - Rockies in 5 - the Rox are going to hit moon bombs at Shea and Coors, and each game will be a shootout, with the Rockies overcoming the Mets' slightly superior pitching staff

AL Championship
Cleveland at Boston - Indians in 6 - the Indians won't go up 3-1 and then lose the series again, but it won't be a sweep; this will probably be the best series of the playoffs if all the principals are healthy at this point

NL Championship
Colorado at Arizona - D-Backs in 7 - in a repeat of the season's best intra-division series, the D-Backs will again prevail through their pitching staff

World Series
Arizona at Cleveland - Indians in 6 - the D-Backs will make this one of the best World Serieses in the last ten years, but the Indians have enough offense to score more often than the D-Backs, and their pitching staffs are about even
